SOS - Public toilets in Cavallino Treporti

You’ve just arrived in Cavallino, perhaps on your bike, and suddenly... "nature calls." It’s an extreme emergency: you left your wallet at home. Not a single Euro, no coins, nothing at all. What do you do? You can’t even walk into a bar and order a coffee as a courtesy because you can't pay for it. It’s just you, your bike, and an urgent need. Here is your survival guide to (free) public toilets along the coastline.

The "Official Guide": Common Stopovers

If you’re lucky enough to be near these spots, here’s where you can go without spending a cent:

  • Punta Sabbioni: Near the bus terminal, between the tobacco shop and the bar, you’ll find public restrooms! They are usually kept in "fairly" good condition.
  • Ca’ Savio: At the beach access on Via di Ca’ Savio. Note: opening is seasonal. If it’s winter, you’ll find it closed.
  • Cavallino: In the market area, located right behind the ZTL office.

"Insider Tips": Almost Classified Info

Since 15 km of coastline is quite a stretch and emergencies don't give warnings, here are a couple of secrets that might save your day:

  1. The Shopping Center in Ca’ Savio: If the emergency strikes near the center, head to the A&O supermarket. Go to the upper floor (behind the large cafe) and you’ll find the restrooms past the electronics store.

  2. The "Borderline" Option: At a well-known supermarket on the Ca' Vio roundabout, there is a restroom behind the bread section. Use it discreetly and only as a "last resort"!

A Final (Bitter) Reflection

Don't you think these toilets are a bit too few for a municipality that stretches for 15 kilometers? In an area that invests so much in cycling tourism, public toilets should be considered an essential service.

What do you think? Have you ever found yourself in this "desperate" situation along our cycling paths? Let me know in the comments below!
